The S/N for my 700 B is 3961. That puts it near the end of the production run for these amps doesn't it?

Give or take, in the last half of 1976

Here is a reply to another guy with a similar question. He had SN 4900

"Guessing some time in late 1977
In June 1974, PL changed to straight sequential numbering starting with SN 1000. They made about 100 per month or about 1200 per year. To me, that puts 4900 in the last half of 1977
