How do I do this?

I have TWO 6V (4xAA) battery packs and I need to provide 12V to an LED bulb in my bike's light tank.

I know that I need to chain them together and place them inbetween the lamp and the switch but how?

Seriously, the guy that sold me the bike stripped his pack out and I need the last Delta Rocket Ray on my 80s Schwinn Cruiser, especially since the fender mounting hardware arrives in the mail tomorrow and the Ray is for it.

Negative of the 1st one to the negative of the light, positive of the 1st one goes to the negative on the 2nd, positive out of the 2nd to the other side of the light. A cell is a cell, and to increase voltage you put them in series just like you'd stack one on top of the other in a flashlight.

It would have been nicer if the switch hadn't had two red wires but I'm giving it a shot.

OK, thank will work, but now the thing came apart again and I have to put the lens and lamp back in place. It's a start. Thank you Jerry!

Well, no, I seem to have one more wire than I have connections.

I'll try to draw it out in Paint and see what I'm trying to do.

No, If I wire it either way there is still a free wire, either on the combined packs or the switch or something.

I'm not getting this somewhere. Leave it to be smarter than I am.

It would have been nice if they had just left whatever they did in there.

If I connect the free wire one way or the other? I just short it open and the switch doesn't affect that.

No, I removed the battery packs from the circuit. I'm gonna have to sit on a mountain and chant OHM.

LOL well.. might it be that there are two sets of LED's inside the light and you have two red wires to power each set? Connect both reds to the positive side. Take the light apart maybe to see what's going on?

High and low beams? Naaa got me..

Only two wires, positive and negative and it works without the switch but...

I'm not an electrical engineer, I do mechanical crap. It gets me when people do stuff like this.

I'm trying to hold the lens in with electrical tape and the light assembly doesn't connect to anything AFAIK. I have no idea what the original thing even looked like in there. And I've been trying to figure it out for at least two months now. It's smarter than I am.
