Same one I have....remember, you are just bringing the amps up on the variac, any high current stuff will be done without the variac...

Hey Stu-Man!

The variac's saved my ass quite a few times! I have one with an ammeter on the front that I watch very closely when turning a WOPL up for the first time. That needle so much as moves a mm, the power gets cut and I start troubleshooting. Although been known to be a dumbass n keep turning it up .. blew a few things that way lolz.

Thanks guys, I had no idea, I've always just plugged them in and let the electrons move about for about 24 hours before using them when they were an unknown to me. Count me lucky I guess!!

You haven't completely stripped a 700 down to the bare chassis and started over either....
