I got's one Zoebel too many?

Those resistors are part of what's known as a "Zoebel" network. It's to protect the amp against really inductive or reactive loads. The DC protect board has the Zoebel network incorporated in it as you have to do away with the one on the speaker posts to mount the board.,

Hmmm.. that the same DCP I got?? So I can get rid of all those components on the speaker posts and mount it right on the back of em??

Keep the capacitors! PL used good ones in the "Zobel" networks. The resistors are junk.

Yep you did... did ya tell me it was ok to remove the components already on the speaker posts so I could mount it?? I have it half jimmied on the side right now thinking that the Z network had to stay where it was on the posts.

Save em, right now, remove the cap and resistors. The big ceramic resistor on the DC board replaces the 2 on the speaker posts and the big polypro .1uf cap replaces the other one on the posts.

What would a nice Russian PIO cap in the network (Don's DC Protect Circuit) do for the sound? I have a few of them I ordered months ago for speaker building. I think they are 450V...but are they too "slow" for the application? I know they have a reputation as one of the best sounding caps for speaker crossover applications..

They are not really in the sound path, as Lee says. They are for reflected voltage coming back from the speakers. Joe could give us a more technical and functional description. But suffice to say good caps in that application do no harm, the wrong caps could make it sound like mush.
