A good friend of mine is the renovation specialist at a local cathedral, built in 1910.Does beautiful work at a beautiful church.Gotta admit it was probably the 1st time in 40+yrs I've been in one. They upgraded their PA system and he called asking me if I'd like the surplus equipment for the shack, the proceeds go towards the cathedral restoration fund.A worthy cause. For $500 I picked up the following gear, all in pristine as new condition:

QSC MX2000A
QSC MX700
RANE RPE Remote Programmable Equalizer
EV Dx34 Digital Sound System Processor

I ordered the cables for the amps,1/4" to RCA,from another friend.Currently waiting their arrival. I'll probably sell the EV and the RANE,no current or projected use for them. I was primarily interested in the amps to play with. A good way to end a rough week.

Thanks Lee. Yeah,I like those "friends" deals......they don't occur often enough. Got kinda tired of always fixin' things, thought I'd buy something working for a change :)

Hey Bob,running the MX 700 in the office system at the moment. Replaced the Technics R&B SE-A3 with it. Sounds great, minor fan noise at startup clears after a bit. The Technics was starting to get a bit "crackly" on me.Gotta check thru it again.....something started to drift. Stop by sometime when you're in the neighborhood and give the pagodas a listen. I repaired the RANE X-over I got from Jayson and integrated it into the system downstairs. Also using that Kenwood Basic M2A you gave me to drive the mid freq speaker pair. WOW! Can't believe that 901s are producing such wonderful sound, impressive. I can listen for hours. Haven't had a chance to do a write up on the latest system mods yet....too busy listening to it. Bring your SPL meter with you. Curious to see the readings.

I always thought that QSC stuff looked a lot like Yorkville gear.

I scored an Mx3000a last month and let me tell you it is a beast! The mx2000a and 3000a are both dual mono amps, class H. I'm using mine 100hz down and I can blink the clip lights anytime, but... If you keep driving it, it doesn't care, just keeps getting louder! Make sure your speakers are up to it and if you can reach in the ports, feel the temp. I've had some heating...
