I hope these photos will help other builders like me that find photos very instructive. I built these two this past early spring, after reading virtually every post on the forum, and downloading every good photo I could find and studying them. Most photos of 400s were not comprehensive, so I tried to emulate WOPLSniffers builds of 700s. So, here are my builds. All of my music is hard drive based or streaming, to a external DAC, then to a PL2000 preamp, then to a minidsp 2x4, driving the two amps, one amp driving 2 Dayton Audio 15" Ultimax subs, the other driving 2 JBL L150 Milleniums. The WOPLs are totally awesome, way more amp then I'll ever need, just totally FREEKIN awesome.
I want to say thanks to Joe for the incredible engineering and quality that he puts into his product, just top shelf. And Don, thanks for your DCP board, so nice to crank the music and know my expensive speakers are safe. So here are the photos, been doing some home renovation, so the boards are dusty, oh well. Thanks guys, now have them reassembled and taking them downstairs to reinstall in the system. Next project is learning the ins and outs of REW, I think a 2.2 system like I have is as far as I'm going to go. The big curved Samsung flat screen also sounds great through it. Next project is rebuilding the PL2000 preamp. Gathering parts now.

Thanks Joe, that means a lot coming from you. It's been a lot of fun and a great learning experience. Going to ask the wife to talk to Santa about bringing me two of your meter boards for that Series 2. Need to get those swapped out before they fail. The only cap I replaced on them is what looks like that single big filter cap. That bar graph option looks interesting.

George, very nice work, it looks like you have done some electronics work in the past. It would be good to hear about your experience.
BTW, what kind of coaxial wire did you use in your rebuilds?

So forgive me if I'm not posting correctly. I just discovered this site yesterday. I have an excellent model 400 II on the bench now just going over it. I'm trying to find info on this WOPL mod. What is it, do you guys have schematics.. Do you sell it complete or can you buy boards? I have tried going go to White Oaks website but link just takes me to an online pharmacy for some reason. What is up is this site run from ex employees? Always loved Carver... have owned many pieces. This amp I think is one of the most beautiful looking amps ever made. Anyway where can I get all the tech info on WOPL
P.S. I still remember when Bob pissed off the highend community when he matched the sound of his amp to the tube unit!!

Oh yes almost forgot how is this mod doubling power? You have to be upping the power supply voltage correct?

Transformer output voltage stays the same, very modest output power increases due to modern components and superb new circuit design. Been at home all day listening to Lou Reed discography on two WOPL400s with no listening fatigue.
