    I would guess the DC inputs make it DC coupled whereas the AC inputs have a brickwall somewhere above DC, like 10-15hZ or so.

    The Rowland Synergy Preamp

    I presume it charges the batteries when “off” and disconnects the a/c line when “on”. And under-volted op amps sound poor… Wyn’s phono pre toyed with running on 9V batteries but there was no sonic or measurable difference. Despite this I put my power supply external.
