    Looking to upgrade to horns

So it is getting time to get back out in the shop, one of my bucket list things to do this summer is build the subs. I built the frames I will use for the subs so will use 3/4 MDF to enclose the frames. I want to use 18" speakers. I decided to go with simple round port vs square ones. I have...

    New build for shop system

Will be interested how those 18" woofers work out, I will be in the market for a pair of 18's for subs I plan to built this summer.... I was thinking of spending up to $300 per woof but I love saving money. In pic you can see the frames I built to enclose for the 18" woofers, they come in at...

Cheep amp for back up or other use

Crap just missed out on a deal on the Bay there was a crown CH2 amp I wanted, I watched it for 4 days and was going to offer him $80 for it but could not do it till Friday after I collect a few bucks for a small job I did. Before I headed out to the shop I checked and yep still there. Later that...

    120V to 115V conversion??

I am running my whole system off of one plug 15amp outlet. The way my system is growing I will be tripping the circuit and thinking of running a whole new line off the fuse box so I could have 2 15amp circuits for power. Sitting right behind my stereo rack is a 220V outlet. It uses a typical...

Cheep amp for back up or other use

Fantastic!! So sweet I get goose bumps some times. I really lucked out and found those mid cabs so close and so cheap. I am very happy I went with an active Xover instead of trying to build passive ones to find the sweet spots to get all 3 speakers to work perfectly together in my surroundings...

Cheep amp for back up or other use

Thats how I feel, they are not eye candy but do the job well. The fan is variable speed/thermostatic controlled, never comes on or at low speed at low volume but when it does run at full speed it is noisy but when cranked up a bit I can't hear it I usually am sitting back from the system to...

Cheep amp for back up or other use

I know the CL1 does not have speaker protection in them, they must have some sort of bleed off though as when you shut it down it does not pop like the stock PL's do... I will run in line fuses to the speakers but not sure what amp to use for fuse. For now I am using the 18" woofers in my old...

Cheep amp for back up or other use

Last summer I blew out my stock 400, I had it powering subs... may have been pushing it to much for a stock amp so the right channel gave out. I need to find something to replace the 400 to drive subs and came across the Crown CL1. This is a great amp and built like a tank. If you need a cheep...

    RIP stock 400

Not sure what I will do with it now... if I had someone who did stock 400's I would maybe consider doing it up maybe just add a DCP but other than that I would like to keep it stock. I already have a full wopl 400

    RIP stock 400

This is bone stock no DCP board in it, I guess the way a stock PL handles DC is by blowing fuses..... I am going to pick something else up with a bit more balls than the 400 to drive the subs.

    RIP stock 400

I'm not sure yet what I will do with it, the meters work perfect and the face plate is real nice but it still has all the original caps in it so it would need to be completely gone through or I may just hang onto it for spare meters in case the ones on my WO 400 ever go out.....
