LW still happens. Like s h ! t still happens. :laughing8: Because the artists/labels hire knuckleheads that don't take the time to really sort out the masters. It's easier for slackers to compress and blanket boost things across a whole albums worth of material. That's why remixes by likes of Steve Wilson and Giles Martin (Beatles stuff...) are so freaking awesome.

In any event, songs like Beer Drinkers, La Grange and Tush pack a real wallop now. Color me impressed.
I'm pretty sure this new ZZ Top Anniversary collection isn't remixed ... just remastered - but they did em right.
The Logans are helping too ...

I've got news for you...a lot of the original masters and other tapes for those albums/artists were destroyed in fires at Atlantic and NBCUniversal facilities between 1977 and about 10 years ago.
