    Welcome Tapeheads!

Sam, You are correct, it did cost a lot. Shipping was around $175, round trip but it was worth it. I've had the receiver for over 20 years and I only paid $35.00 & a 6 pk of Bud. It was a garage find and when I got it back from P.S. it looked like it just came out of the audio store. I don't...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Gas is still bouncing around. Last weekend, the low was $2.82. Today, the low is $2.92 and several of the branded stations are selling at $2.999. Of course one political party is blaming the president for the inflation of gas as well as the cost of groceries going up. I wonder how many of these...

    Welcome Tapeheads!

Sam, I was writing about my SX1080. P.S. rebuilt this receiver in 2011. The problem is distortion in the right channel. I spoke with P.S. and he offered to repair the unit but couldn't really give me a clear problem. I changed my cables, reversed my speaker and several ideas but nothing solved...

    Welcome Tapeheads!

TH's & this one are the only audio forums I belong too. I was a member on AK years ago, but was never active except for my first post. I tried to log in to AK about a year ago but apparently I was purged from the site. I didn't lose any sleep over it. I still visit both of these forums daily...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Gas is holding steady for the past few days. Some stations were just one digit away from $3.00, but have since backed down to the low $2.90's. The crude futures are down today along with the whole market; however, OPEC has announced they will be increasing their output. I think if prices remain...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Some stations are upping their prices, moving closer to the $3.00 mark. Not surprising. Now, some gas stations in the east coast corridor are suing Colonial pipeline for their failure to secure their internet against hackers. The stations are claiming it cost them thousands of dollars that they...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

You won't get an argument out of me. He came into office with all these give-away programs that was a blessing to many, but it wasn't needed by many either. Then, his major blunder was his failure to foresee the problem he was creating at the border. Once people started to voice their concerns...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Gas took a leap over night. Low is 2.83 for regular ethanol and six of the thirteen stations are at $2.999. And of course, the news stations are screaming into their mics that its all Biden's fault along with everything else that are costing more. Without any facts, they still may be blaming a...

Sniffer, I'm a little off track here but I see you're in AZ. Where are you at. I was transferred to Phx in 1988 from Colorado. I settled in Peoria for the first two years and then moved to Sedona where I spent the next 12 Years. Ron

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Gas prices have come back down in the past week. Today, a couple of stations are selling at $2.78. Gas did go over $3.00 last week. The two Phillips' stations were at $3.02, but I don't think it lasted beyond a day.

Open-Reel Tape Experiences -The Good & Bad

Sam, Thank you for your input. Your info on the capture tape is interesting. With that information in mind, I may just stay with LPR. I see where I mentioned my 765 in the post. I'm going to get rid of it this year along with the 766-2. That will leave me with the 755's, 756 and 758' One 755...

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

On Wednesday a couple of the Shell stations were selling regular for $3.02. Today they are in the mid 90's. Murphy is at $2.81 compared to $2.98 all week. Their competition across the street is $2.83. I wonder where the prices will be after the holidays.

The prices of gas may be striking people with some fear. Yesterday, gas was 2.88. Today the high is 2.99 at the Phillip's stations.

    Gasoline prices Skyrocketing!

Gas prices are still bouncing around. Last week prices were hovering around around 2.78. Yesterday, prices were (low) 2.64. Now, if I could figure out what the hell is causing the real estate market prices to be so high.
