    Pioneer Silver Cassette Decks

I'm not quite sure what happened there... :? I mean, me no smoke da ganga (can't afford it). Are you holding out on me, Stu? Have you solved the motor mystery? Did you go to see a guy 'bout a boat? If you have and you're not tellin'...... I'll...... I'll........ :whax: BTW...

    Sound card

 Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel. I was seriously contemplating an M-Audio Audiophile 192 card at one time. It would have been a step up from the Creative Labs Audigy. But, that was only for playback of high res files from 16/48 to 24/192 on the main system or...

    Pioneer Silver Cassette Decks

The most common outcomes, from what I've read, are that even if a replacement motor fits, sans modification, in the same spot and has the same voltage rating, rpm's run either significantly slower or faster than desired and/or it has too much or too little torque, resulting in the same (or...

    Pioneer Silver Cassette Decks

Hey Sam, No secrets here. I'm turning over every stone I can. If I find something, I'll definitely share. Your comment on a mod is an interesting one. It may come down to there not being any other choice (or might have already). Biff

    Anybody else sweltering, here!?

Geeez, I can count on a few fingers the number of days we've had here below 90 degrees since late spring. I don't think we've had any summer days, at all, below 90. One more summer like this and I'm gonna start building up dirt on all sides of my house like an ant hill.

    what are you listening to?

I use to have a bunch of those gold Maxell's. But, they went with my whole college trunk when it was stolen many moons ago. I seem to be stuck on old Ronnie and Rod (Faces) at the moment. I did buy my wife Sade's new one, "Soldier of Love". I have been listening to that here and there. But...

    what are you listening to?

I know a place that has a whole bunch of that stuff... at least, at last check; but, I'd have to hide those records under the bed.

    Amps

I've been looking at the Dynakits from Triode Electronics...... ...since, ahem, I can't afford Ampzilla 2000's at present. Got a line another source???

    Amps

I have used an SAE Mark IIIA as my main power amp for several years. I bought it used. I think it's 120wpc. I'll never know for sure because there is no way I'll ever get that thing full bore in my listening room without peeling shrapnel from my behind. (...maybe when I wind up in the garage...)...

    what are you listening to?

Jeeezzz... Is it August, already? I had to get out of the house today. I came back with about 20 LP's. I've already listened to: Bill Cosby Disco Bill "What Ya Think 'Bout Lickin' My Chicken" is    Before I turn in I'll probably hit up: Faces A Nod Is As Good As A Wink...

    Post up them TT pics

I like the Pioneer tonearm setup far better than the Technics (despite the titanium nitride arm wand); as I'll take standard mount and a headshell over T4P, anyday. I've often thought about modifying the SL-M3 by yanking the arm assembly, saving only the necessary electronics (since the motor is...

    Pioneer Silver Cassette Decks

How many of you own Pioneer "silver" cassette decks? How many of you who don't own one would be more apt to hunt one down if you knew you could also purchase a brand new replacement motor for the ever elusive and often in need of refurbishment RW/FF take up motor (RXM-047)? Just wondering...

Well, here it is again... Technics SL-M3 Regardless of sight and sound (and the coolness factor), it's really not my favorite of the bunch. Maybe it's time to trade it for another PR99; keep the 1200's and get a sweet arm for the 150Mk2.
