I will certainly be posting some new videos with the Valve amp in the audio chain. Played some vinyl through it last night, sounded great, just a little bright at this stage. I am being picky here, typical Audiophile.

I think this kit has a great bang for buck, it is possible you can't get a quality unit 'pre made' in the same price range.

What I mean, is that you probably could not find a Valve pre of equal quality in pre-made form.

Ahhhhhhh, I dig....... I agree that the kits (where you have the ability to sub in better components) are possibly better performers.

I know the large main caps are Nichicon (URY2G220MRD), but the 3 smaller caps are a brand I have never heard of, they are Low-ESR.

    The Semi conductors are:
    LM294OCT-12 12V 1A low dropout regulator
    MC34063 switchmode regulator
    IRF540 N-Channel Mosfet
    IPA60R520E6 600V N-Channel Mosfet

You seem to have good electronic Knowledge. Tell me, what would you do to improve this Valve Pre?

If it sounds good, don't mess with it..... Besides, without looking at the skizmo, ya never know.... Usually you can experiment with the caps in the signal path to find "The Sound".. But, all our ears are different so I think I'll have another glass of Champ-Pagne....

The regulators usually won't affect anything if it was designed right, the Mosfets (misfits??) may ar may not... Mmmmmm, bubbles.....
