The ten most significant amplifiers of all time

Old article, but new to me, hope it's new to others also. My favorite brand gets lots of love. Any others come to mind?

Thanks for posting this. I do kind of remember this list when I subscribed to TAS.
Great comments on our Phase Linear's for sure.

I enjoyed the comment by "Analog Gary." The Bogen DB230 and 230A have been part of my systems since 1968,
and I still use a Gold Face 230A . I have a total of four of these amps I have collected along the way. I have one better:
The Bogen DS265. This amp uses three GS34 rectifier tubes and 7027a outputs and in-house wound transformers.
Killer amps on Blues and Jazz.

Yeah I think the Crown DC300 should be on the list.

Thanks OP, I haven't read everything here yet, but I'm trying! Give me time, I'm old and slow.

The May/June 2011 article "The 10 Most Significant Amplifiers of All Time" which appeared in "The Absolute Sound" stated the following: "What amplifiers have had the most impact on high-end audio? Changed the market? Influenced future designs? Introduced new technologies or concepts? Established new sonic benchmarks?

So what was it about the Bose 1801 that meets the criteria that "The Absolute Sound" stated above?

By the way, my son Josh did some work for Bose a few years ago while he was getting his BSEE from Georgia Tech. All he got out of it was some Bose headphones.
