I bought one of these and the following book on electronics. They're both incredible books!! The content is what we all love to read about and the build quality of the books is possibly the best you'll have in your library. Yes they're expensive! I think they're worth every penny of it and if I don't have mine buried with me, I'll leave them to my most deserving relative.

BTW, could you tell me your thoughts on the read of James Bongiorno? Do they discuss his early work with Saul Marantz, and his famous flaming Tiger amp? thanks!

There's no mention of the Flaming Tiger Amp in the section on James Bongiorno. Most of the write-ups are biographical rather than talking about specific equipment. The Biogiorno section is 5 pages long and includes info on G.A.S., Sumo, and Ampzilla 2000.
There's quite about about the relationship between Bongiorno, Saul Marantz, Sid Smith and Richard Sequerra across several sections. Apparently these 4 were fast friends and collaborated on many projects.
Bob Carver has 8 pages attributed to him, Phase Linear, Carver, Sunfire and the Bob Carver Corporation.

Don't get me wrong, there's plenty about the equipment but it's more about the iconic designs and the processes behind coming up with those designs.

To give you an idea about the physical size of these books (they're identical), they're 12" square, 1.5" thick and weigh 6.25 lbs. Yes, I weighed my electronics book! I can't overstate the quality of the product. The electronics book is more than 325 pages and the page stock is HEAVY! While some of the photos are reproductions of old originals, the picture quality is excellent given what they had to work with.

My finger is hovering over the BIN button, these seem like an investment soon to go up when no longer printed. There's a rumored vol. 3 about turntables and various digital...

If a volume 3 is available I'm buying it for sure. My hope is that they are able to produce a whole (short) series of these books. Once you get your hands on one you honestly wonder if they're making a dime on them. This has to be a labor of love and not a money maker.

These are the ultimate coffee table books for your listening room. No snot nosed, sticky fingered little brats are allowed to touch these bad boys.

Go ahead.... pull the trigger on that Buy It Now.
