For Sale Pioneer CT-S705 3 Head Cassette Deck

    Sold

For sale one Pioneer CT-705S 3 Head Cassette Deck

It is in average cosmetic shape and in working condition, altough it needs to be cleaned up both cosmetically and the controls need to be cleaned. I had to work the record level knob to get both channels to record. After that I did record one side of a tape and it sounds good.

This deck features 3 Heads, Dolby B and C, Switchable MPX Filter, peak hold/ dual range meters, headphone level control and adjustable bias.

$40 plus shipping which will run $20 to $25 in the US.

Too much gear too little time.

Oh, I like coffee and I like tea
I'd like to be able to crank up a 700B
I still got this woofer that you just can't shake
I love to power it to the point it can no longer take
Well all right okay, so be that way
I hope and pray that there's something left to play

i picked one of those up for cheap at a thrift a few years back. didn't need it, just wanted the isolator feet for one of my other components.
it's still lying around in a stack of excess cassette decks/CDPs/DVDPs. it'll probably never see the light of day again, -what with the likes of my TOTL CT-S800 around-
but who knows; someday it just might come in handy for parts or something. it ain't no TOTL, but is certainly way better than the majority of Pio's dual-wells.
probably only a select few of their TOTL dual models can compete with it, namely the CT-W910R and -W900R...

I've probably got more of those feet...

If you still have it by next month, get back to me, after I take care of the Technics.

BTW, it seems that many of the Pioneers with those feet have two cone feet in back but the big discs will fit there as well.

It has big gold disc feet on all four corners.

I have it listed here and at TH. I will mark it sold if and when it does. If it doesn't sell here then I'll probably put it on ebay.

You may want to delay me shipping your technics also as I can proibably ship two decks in oen box for about the same price as one deck since Fed Exd dimesionalizes the weight of larger parcels.

I can probably handle both then as I have room in the budget for that and paying Bill a BUNCH and FOOD and such.

If you want to figure that out I'd be happy to help.

The only problem with collecting tape decks is that there is no convenient carrying case, like there is for Matchbox or Hot Wheels.

i've done exactly that with a couple of Pio DVD players i've been through. i had PIONEER's very first dedicated DVDP, the 1996 DV-500,
-a well made, but terrible, TERRIBLE performer- and stock the player had a pair of cheater peg feet in the back.
those came right off, and the player already had a set of pre-drilled holes perfectly accommodating a full set
of standard large Pio isolator feet. no doubt the Japanese market version already had a full isolator set factory fitted,
since PIONEER, like most other Japanese A/V concerns, were quite fond of finding ways to strip down and cut corners
on the U.S. variants of their product lines, often even on their TOTL ELITE products.

those isolators are not gold, but a brushed aluminum-like finish. Pio never made gold toned isolators, not even for their ELITE lines...

It was a figure of speech, if they were gold they have long since been melted down. They are aluminum around plastic with a slight gold hue from the lighting reflections.

my mistake, i should have specified "not gold-chrome-plated plastic, but brushed aluminum-chrome-plated plastic.

i have yet to know of any audio-A/V product at any price point that uses solid gold anywhere in it's construction.
gold plating, copper plating, perhaps even plating with other precious metals, but solid castings or machined components?
doubt that's ever been done outside of a handful of horribly overpriced esoteric Audiophile products...
